Nicholas Simmons, internationally renowned artist, returns for an inspiring
and fun workshop. Focus will be on concepts, composition and design elements. Traditional watercolor as well as fluid acrylics used as transparent watercolor will be used. Students will paint daily, watch demos, and receive individualized attention. Be prepared for Nicholas' high energy, unorthodox, and varied approach to watercolor. All levels are welcome in this workshop designed to bring lots of new ideas and techniques to experienced painters, and introduce new painters to the medium.

| Pastel Painting - 10/13 - 10/14 |

Linda Minkowski will be teaching a 2-day Pastel workshop. Linda is a popular teacher who works in many art media. She lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware where she has a studio and gallery. She teaches painting and drawing at Wilmington University and is also on the faculty of the Rehoboth Art League where she teaches drawing and intermediate painting.
Living on the beautiful Delmarva Peninsula and numerous trips abroad provide her constant inspiration with the diversity of people and scenery. She works in oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolor, depending on the subject.
Linda's paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the US. Her Rehoboth Beach Dolphin Project Dolphin statue is on display at the Rehoboth Beach - Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce and also appears on the Rehoboth-o-poly Game. She has been commissioned often to paint people, pet and building portraits and has also produced numerous commercial art pieces for area businesses.

| Jewelry Making Workshop with Sue Stockman - 10/23 - 10/24 |
10am-3pm on Saturday, 10am-2pm on Sunday
$60 for members/$65 for non-members
$60 materials fee payable at the class
This class is geared towards beginners that want to learn some basics of jewelry making, emphasizing cold connections, and non-torch work. Participants will learn different ways to use wire, including wrapping and making clasps. They will also learn to work with silver sheet, using drills, disc cutters, and different stamps and hammers for texturing the silver. All the tools will be provided and each person will have ample supplies to create multiple pieces during the workshop. Some basic beading techniques will also be explored and the combinations of these techniques will allow for a huge variety of creativity to be expressed. If participants have personal tools, like pliers or supplies, or beads they would like to use you are encouraged to bring them along.........Come and explore and have fun!
Sue Stockman exhibits her jewelry, mosaics, and sculpture throughout the United States and her pieces reside in collections worldwide. Her popular classes and workshops encourage personal creativity and growth on many levels. Sue's work centers on her beliefs and incorporates found and or recycled materials. Her mosaic murals are in schools as part of Maryland's Artist in Residence program and in private homes. Her jewelry includes exquisite silver work with natural stones and other materials. | Bartik Workshop with Betsy Hall Harrison - 11/8 - 11/10 |
Learn the ancient art of Batik! This is a wax-resist and dye process usually done on cloth. We will experiment with wax application techniques on cotton and oriental papers. Basic color mixing dyes for dye baths, and wax removal methods will also be covered. Students should complete 2-3 small Batiks in the 3 day workshop. No art experience needed! 10:00 - 2:00 Monday - Wednesday.
Please wear old clothes or bring an apron and gloves.
