Featuring: \n\n“Where the Sand Meets the Sea: Contemporary Beachscapes” by Michelle Marshall\n“Skate/Surf” group show\n“Clay-a-palooza” in Studio E\, featuring the Clay Guild of the Eastern Shore\n“Various Visuals” by Jack Knight in the Spotlight Gallery\nJoan Danoff in the Artisan Showcase\n“Different Imagination” by Elizabeth Grey in the Staircase Gallery\n\nSee a display of artwork from the United Way’s Lower Shore Visual Arts Addiction Awareness Youth Show\, showcasing artwork by Worcester County middle and high school students. View prints from the “Stigma Highlighted: Portraits of Recovery” exhibition\, featuring twelve portraits of individuals in recovery from four counties (Worcester\, Wicomico\, Talbot\, and Somerset) created by twelve local artists. And learn more from Worcester Goes Purple\, an awareness project to engage the community in preventing substance abuse and promotion of healthy life choices. \nWith a special performance by Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective – “Intertidal” & “Global Water Dances”. Learn more about the upcoming Dance on the Shore Festival continuing June 8. \nPlus live music by Party Shaker Billy Zee! \nThe Art League will also announce its 2024 scholarship winners\, continuing its support of local students who are seeking higher education in the arts.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2nd annual Dance on the Shore Festival\, presented by Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective (SIEDC). All activities are FREE and open to the public.\n\nFriday June 7\n\n5-7pm: Live Dance Performance at the First Friday Reception – see the dancers of Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective perform their piece Intertidal\, about bodies of water\, and learn the 4 hand movements of the official ‘Global Water Dances‘ to kick off the festival. Meet the dancers and learn more.\n\n\nSaturday June 8\n\n11-1pm: Saturday Kids Craft – for families and kids of all ages – make a fun craft led by the Art League of Ocean City\, then create movement along with the SIEDC dancers inspired by your creation.\n1:15-2:15pm: “Mat to Movement” Workshop – a water-themed dance workshop incorporating yoga and light movement for adults (outside\, if weather permits). Bring your own yoga mat! Click here for advance registration; walk-in’s welcome.\n2:30-3pm: Community Improv Dance Party – all are welcome!\n11-3pm (ongoing): Film Screening of “Roots: Maryland’s Nature to Nurture” (27 mins) Audiences explore through dance Maryland’s coast\, mountains\, suburbs\, and cities and the community value systems and personal perspectives throughout the state.
