A physicist by training and vocation, Fred Dylla combines a lifelong love of woodworking with his interest in watercolor painting. For many years he admired his two daughters’ artwork, Kim and Sarah, both graduates of the UVA School of Fine arts and began painting to have something to talk about with them. He has found the white-line woodcut medium to be a perfect blend of his two artful passions. Fred learned the technique of white-line woodcuts from his friend and mentor, Bill Evaul who rediscovered this art form in Provincetown, MA in the 1980’s. Fred is available for private and group lessons on this uniquely American art form.
