Jeanne Mueller

Sunrise At Cape Henlopen - Oil

About the Artist

As a precocious 4-year-old, budding artist Jeanne Mueller painted her mother’s sofa.  Although her design didn’t win an award, a passion for creativity was created.  After retiring to the Delaware shore, Jeanne discovered an enthusiasm for painting.  In her paintings, she loves using color, light and shapes from which she creates visual sensations with color relationships and atmosphere, bringing life to her paintings in a variety of mediums. Jeanne holds membership in the Rehoboth Art League, the Art League of Ocean City, Oil Painters of America and Delaware by Hand.   Jeanne has won awards in many local shows, as well as at the Biggs Museum in Dover, DE.  In 2017, she was awarded “Best Artist in Sussex County” by the readers of Coastal Style.

Artist’s Statement

I love art and the process of creating art.  To quote Twyla Tharp, “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home…”  So true, I can lose all sense of time and space while creating a new piece of art.  I love exploring color, light and shapes and creating visual sensations with color relationships and atmosphere.  I enjoy taking an abstract idea I have and making it come to life and express what I feel about a particular subject in a variety of mediums including oil and pastel.
