Wendy Cossman has resided in Potomac, MD for over 30 years and has always been involved with multimedia crafts, pottery and painting.
Wendy has studied watercolor; taking classes from Bonny Lundy, Susan Heron, Dave Daniels, Sonia Hunt, Firouzeh Sadeghi and Carole Bouville. She has taught art to Preschoolers, group lessons at women’s retreats and gives private lessons. She has exhibited at The Lombardy Art Gala, Ratner Museum, Julius Bindeman Center and a solo show at Paintiques in Rehoboth Beach. She is an artist with ShopVida, taking her watercolors and designing a collection of clothing, wearables, and accessories that help factories in third world countries and supports literacy. She also donates a portion of each item to charity. Her art is currently on display at The Art League of Ocean City, Visions Exhibit, Salon One in Wakefield, her Potomac, MD studio as well as her Ocean View, Delaware Gallery.
Wendy received her BSN from the University of Michigan in 1977. Currently, Wendy has a private practice in health, wellness, nutrition and stress management, and also facilitate Wise Aging classes. She incorporates artistic expression in her healing process. She belongs to Strathmore Artists, Ocean City Art League, Rehoboth Art League, Shop Vida and Friends of the Yellow Barn.
Wendy’s creative style uses vibrant colors, with an imaginative look at the subject matter using whimsical and impressionistic techniques. She paints an array of subject matter from abstracts, still lives, nature and portraits. She has a love for traveling the world, and takes inspiration from the places she visits, trying to capture the passion of her travels. She loves watercolor for the dance of color and paint on the paper and likes to introduce the excitement of unexpected color to add originality and excitement to her work.
