Interested in all forms of creative endeavors, Bilbo has augmented a modest career with stints at Baltimore Junior College (AA) and the Maryland Institute of Art, a budding and ever-changing sojourn into a world of artistic satisfaction.
Long time OC resident, Bilbo has just recently joined the Art League of Ocean City and is happy to be part of a vibrant community of creative souls.
Tennis teacher, musician, craftsman, artist, Bilbo can seemingly do it all when it comes to creative action. Or can he? You decide.
In the Artisan Showcase:
Inspired through nature to create art.
A hunter/gatherer so to speak, and collects natural items that would typically be overlooked or simply glanced at and allows her mind to guide her to create a piece of art.
Debbi attended Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, initially learning metal design, jewelry and pottery wheel throwing. Her mixed media art is self taught.
She proclaims there are no trial and errors, because generally speaking there are no errors in art. If there is something that doesn’t connect with her inner soul, she lets it evolve into something else, using a variety of different materials, that would or have been discarded and letting her mind go.
Debbi enjoys inserting purpose and spirituality into every creation, whether it is through her own soul or seeking the spiritual meaning about the animal or object before creating it. She finds herself attracted to facial expressions, eyes, (as they are the window to the soul) and animals. She enjoys animals of all kinds, has practiced vegetarianism for over 35 years and enjoys incorporating the enjoyment of her animal creations on the wall instead of on her plate. She finds a true sense of spirituality in all mankind.
