Shared Visions, artists and writers collaborate.
Each year, the Art League partners with the Ocean City Writers Group to create an exhibition that explores both the visual and literary arts. This year, artists selected a piece of writing to use as inspiration for their artwork. See the creations alongside one another in this collaborative exhibition.

Cancan Huang was born in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China in 1983. Both of his parents are painters and professors at college level art departments in China. He started to touch art since he was very young and learn academic painting skills since he was in high school. He began to study in the BFA program at Salisbury University in 2016 with the concentration in painting. Before he came to the United States in 2014, he taught college-preparatory painting program for high school students in China for 5 years. His oil paintings also had awarded several prominent level awards in China.
In the Spotlight Gallery:
Sandra Grzybowski: I started taking photos quite a while back, but in the past few years got into it a little more seriously. When I got involved in, and became a member of the Art League of Ocean City, it gave me an outlet to display my work, sell my work, and enjoy the benefits of being involved with the photography and art world. I also am a member of the Coastal Camera Club, Lewes, Delaware.
In April 2013, I won my first ribbon (second place for “The Walk”) at the Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, Delaware. It was both exciting and gratifying to see that someone liked what I do, and sees the same thing my eyes see while taking a photograph. I also took first place, “The Walk”, and second place, “The War Tower” at a show, June 2013, at the Lewes Library, and was honored to know that Kevin Fleming was one of the judges. I have since won more ribbons, and participated in other competitions at the Ward Museum and The Globe.
In the Artisan Showcase:
Skylar Reed: Creating art exhilarates me and is something I started doing at a young age. I am from the small town of Chincoteague Virginia. Most of my work is inspired by the coastal life and memories associated with this seaside town. I like to turn everyday objects into fine art such as oyster shells, yard sale finds, and antiques. I just received my BFA from Salisbury University this month. I hope to teach at a local school and continue making art.
