This month, we are excited to feature Todd Stevens’ 2018 documentary “Crownsville Asylum: From Lunacy to Legacy.”
The program will also feature an exclusive interview with Stevens prior to the film.
Synopsis: A history and education on the defunct Crownsville Hospital Center. Constructed in 1910, Crownsville State Hospital, formerly known as the Hospital for the Negro Insane of Maryland, was the third asylum in the U.S. designed to house only African-Americans. Integrating in 1962, and closing in 2004, the hospital remains empty to date.
