Would you like to learn how to paint with Oil, but don’t know where to start? Are you looking to further your oil painting ability? OR Are you looking to explore the grand possibilities of a new medium? Then this is the painting class for you! As a long time, professional oil painter and fine art educator, David holds a plentiful amount of experience in producing and teaching various styles of oil painting. Regardless of your amount of experience, desired painting style, or subject preference, this class will assist in your growth as an oil painter and artist.
Against common belief, oil paint is the perfect medium for painting enthusiasts, because it is more forgiving than other mediums. This allows artists to make substantial improvements throughout the painting process without having to start all over.
Ultimately, this class will guide you step by step, starting with the best materials for oil painting. Next, in each lesson to connect class content knowledge to student painting application, historical and contemporary masters will be featured. Along with color mixing, the primary goal of instruction will address the importance of creating a sketch and dynamic compositions in paint. Finally, instruction will cover the various layers of “building up” an oil painting to reach the end goal.
Need materials? There are 3 options: 1.) Email me at davidsimpson.art79@yahoo.com for a material list or 2.) I can provide you with all the necessary materials, including a canvas for the painting class on the day of instruction for $15 fee paid directly to the instructor at the start of class or 3.) At check in, you can buy a starter kit directly from the gallery for $25, this includes essential paints, medium, brushes, palette and 1 canvas. See you there!

Please register by 12/15/2019!

Is there a closet in your house with boxes of things you no longer need? You might not even know what’s in half of them. Maybe something you’ve been searching for is in there, but there’s so much clutter, you can’t find it.

Our minds can get filled up, too, with unresolved problems, lingering grief, old criticisms and negative judgments, needless worries … things we no longer need, that no longer serve us, but we just keep holding on to them. Journaling can help us clear out all that mental and emotional “clutter.” Then we can find what really matters: new ideas, creative expression, and all the inner wisdom we have accumulated through our life’s experiences.

In this workshop, you will learn techniques to:

• Access your subconscious and unconscious mind and tap into the vast resources stored there.
• Safely relieve tension, frustration, anger, and other strong emotions.
• Improve your time-management and organizational skills.
• Track cycles, patterns and trends in your life.
• Unlock the messages in your dreams.
• Experiment with creative writing.
• Write your autobiography.
• And, have a lot of fun!
