July 2024: Beverly Bassford Memorial Juried Show
2023 Best In Show: Barbara Kern-Bush “Once Upon A Time”, Oil
Now accepting submissions for the 24th annual memorial event named for a former Art League board member who was passionate about the need for the Ocean City Center for the Arts. After her death in 1999, Bassford’s family established a prize in her name that grew into the annual show, still sponsored by the family. Artists may enter up to two pieces of original artwork for consideration: all media, 2D and 3D. Selected artwork will hang in-person at the OC Center for the Arts, July 2024
Exhibit juror: Jinchul Kim, artist and professor of art at Salisbury University.
Awards: Prizes awarded for Best in Show: $200, first place: $175, second place: $125, third place: $100, and 3 honorable mentions. All award winners will be invited to participate in our year-end “Best of 2024” exhibit during the month of December 2024.

Eligibility: Artist must be 18 years or older and may submit up to two pieces of original artwork for consideration, securely framed and properly wired for hanging. Work must be created in the past three years and never before shown at an Art League judged show. The maximum outside frame dimensions may not exceed 36×48″. Sales: The Art League of Ocean City receives a commission of thirty percent (30%) of the sale price of artwork and all sales of artwork exhibited must be processed through the Art League.
Shipping: Accepted artists are responsible for hand-delivering or shipping their work to and from the Art League and insuring it while in transit. Shipped entries must be securely packed (please no styrofoam peanuts) and sent in substantial reusable containers. Artists must provide a pre-paid return shipping label for the return of unsold items. Artwork left with the gallery more than 30 days after the close of the exhibition without return arrangements will be deemed abandoned and become the property of the Art League. Selected artwork must be received by Monday July 1.
