First Friday Opening Reception for May Exhibits

Goosebumps the Musical
Come and hear tunes from the Broadway musical performed by the Lower Shore Performing Arts Company in the Ocean City Center for the Arts’ main gallery. Proceeds benefit the LSPAC and the Art League of Ocean City. Tickets are $25.

Artist Talk & Reception with Jennifer Carter
At the Princess Royale satellite gallery ~ View Jennifer’s exhibit of paintings and photography and hear her speak about her process, artwork, and inspiration. Her fellowship year will incorporate art and music, artist self-care, mindfulness and gratitude with artistic expressions, and nature as a healing force through workshops, webinars, art-focused field trips, and exhibits. Please join us for an informative and inspirational evening at the oceanfront Princess Royale.

Arts Day in the Pines
Join us for the 4th annual Arts Day!
Arts Day is an annual spring fundraising event for the Art League of Ocean City that takes place at the beautiful Veterans Memorial Park in Ocean Pines on June 2nd from 12pm-4pm. Featuring an Artisan Marketplace, a Kids’ Zone complete with bounce houses and kids art activities, “Art League’s Got Talent” performances, raffles, dancing, food, drink, and more! Free and open to the public.

- “Clay-a-palooza” in Studio E, featuring the Clay Guild of the Eastern Shore
- Jack Knight in the Spotlight Gallery
- Lower Shore Visual Arts Addiction Awareness Youth Show, showcasing artwork by Worcester County middle and high school students.
With a special performance by Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective – “Intertidal” & “Global Water Dances”. Learn more about the upcoming Dance on the Shore Festival continuing June 8.

“Dance on the Shore” Festival
Friday June 7
- 5-7pm: Live Dance Performance at the First Friday Reception – see the dancers of Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective perform their piece Intertidal, about bodies of water, and learn the 4 hand movements of the official ‘Global Water Dances‘ to kick off the festival. Meet the dancers and learn more.
Saturday June 8
- 11-1pm: Saturday Kids Craft – for families and kids of all ages – make a fun craft led by the Art League of Ocean City, then create movement along with the SIEDC dancers inspired by your creation.
- 1:15-2:15pm: “Mat to Movement” Workshop – a water-themed dance workshop incorporating yoga and light movement for adults (outside, if weather permits). Bring your own yoga mat! Click here for advance registration; walk-in’s welcome.
- 2:30-3pm: Community Improv Dance Party – all are welcome!
- 11-3pm (ongoing): Film Screening of “Roots: Maryland’s Nature to Nurture” (27 mins) Audiences explore through dance Maryland’s coast, mountains, suburbs, and cities and the community value systems and personal perspectives throughout the state.
