Artist Biography:
I am a studio potter based in Berlin, Maryland. A native of Baltimore, I have been working in ceramics for more than 30 years. My work is handcrafted, functional stoneware pottery for the table, home and garden, primarily thrown on the potters wheel. I enjoy creating pleasing objects that enhance the rituals of everyday life –– a favorite mug for morning coffee, a special serving piece to grace the table at family gatherings, a distinctive vase for holding freshly cut flowers from the garden. I fire a variety of mid-range glazes that I mix in my own studio, and use a combination of dipping, layering, and brushwork to produce designs inspired by nature and the Atlantic coastal landscape. All work is food/dishwasher/microwave safe.
