Job Description: Front Desk Associate

Part time/ Hours per week 21-28
Non-Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director

The Art League of Ocean City is a non-profit community organization dedicated to promoting the
arts through exhibitions, educational programs, and community events. We provide a welcoming
space for artists and art enthusiasts to connect, create, and celebrate the arts.

Position Overview:
The Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for our visitors. This role is
essential in creating a positive experience for our guests and supporting the overall mission of
the Art League. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and organizational
skills, a passion for the arts, and a desire to contribute to a creative environment.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in arts or related field preferred.
– Previous experience in customer service or front desk operations is a plus.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
– Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email platforms).
– Knowledge of art and familiarity with gallery settings is advantageous.
– Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

– Greet and assist visitors, providing information about exhibitions, programs, and events.
– Manage front desk operations, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and
handling inquiries.
– Process membership registrations, art sales, and event ticket sales using the organization’s
point-of-sale system.
– Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring brochures are up-to-date.
– Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support gallery openings, workshops, and events.
– Assist in promoting upcoming events and programs through social media and other
communication channels.
– Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining visitor logs.
– Provide support to artists and instructors as needed.
-Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings
