Job Description: Development Director

Hours per week 20-25 Non-Exempt                              Reports to: Executive Director

The Art League of Ocean City is seeking a passionate and experienced Development Director to join our dynamic team. As a non profit organization, the Art League of Ocean CIty is dedicated to promoting the arts, enriching the cultural landscape, and making a positive impact on the area.

Job Summary: The Development Director will work with the Executive Director to oversee our donor relations program and manage our fundraising initiatives to create the strategy to ensure we meet our resource development goals. The Development Director collaborates with the Administrative Assistant, who updates the donor database and mailing lists, and the Reception Coordinator who assists with special events. Position includes fundraising events that may occur on weekends or evenings and allows for remote or offsite work as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and prior relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills Self- starter with the ability to work on a team
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain donor relationships
  • Event planning and project management skills
  • Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft Office suite and google drive
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and familiarity with local community members

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • With Executive Director design and implement annual resource development plan
  • Identify prospective individual donors, event sponsors, legacy partners, and corporate partners; cultivate and maintain those relationships.
  • Proficient use of donor management software
  • Maintain ongoing donor communications
  • Plan and execute fundraising and donor recognition events
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and provide report
  • Develop compelling donor publications & messages with Marketing team
  • Liaison to board resource development committee
