January 2022 Exhibits
January 7, 2022 @ 9:00 am - January 29, 2022 @ 4:00 pm
Featured in the Thaler Gallery:
"Shared Visions". Each year, the Art League of Ocean City partners with the Ocean City Writers Group from the Worcester County Library to create an exhibition that explores both the visual and literary arts. This year began with the writings - a collection of poetry and short prose. Art League members then selected a writing to use as inspiration for their artwork. See the pieces alongside one another in this collaborative show.
- Join us on January 18, 6-8pm for live readings by the OC Writers Group.

"My Favorite Things", all-media group show. Start the year off with a smile! Showcasing artwork inspired by our artists' favorite people, places, and things. Exhibit judge: Leslie Belloso.
In Studio E:
Lamont Hall is an artist, illustrator, designer, and printmaker. His work falls into the space between art and design, being neither entirely one nor the other. He is interested in exploring the boundary between creating for one’s self and problem-solving for others. Hall often creates work inspired by the world around and within him; in hopes of starting conversations– and expanding upon existing ones– around contemporary topics such as race and sexuality.
Originally from Pocomoke City, Lamont Hall is currently based in Brooklyn, NY and is a senior at Pratt Institute pursuing a BFA in Communications Design (with a focus in Illustration) and minoring in Art History.
In the Spotlight Gallery:
Angela Pierce is an art educator who taught twenty-eight years in the Baltimore City and Maryland Public School systems, retiring in 2012. She continued to substitute teach art and all other academic subjects in Sussex County, DE and Manatee County, Florida public charter schools.
She discovered the endless possibilities of oil painting through classes and workshops studies primarily at the Southern Atelier in Sarasota, Florida. There she studied with master painters Charles Miano and Susan J Foster.
Influenced by many artists and styles of art she uses her passion for taking photos to convey her impressions of nature to the canvas.
Off-Site:
At the Princess Royale Oceanfront, 91st St:
Petra Bernstein (pictured). At the Coffee Beanery, 94th St:
C.K. Rompf. Offsite exhibits run through March 2022.
- Born and raised in the German countryside, Petra learned to appreciate nature at an early age. She uses both photography and painting to express her deep connection to the natural world. Her artwork ranges from close-up photographs and paintings of flora and fauna to abstract interpretations of nature’s mysteries. Living on the Wicomico River, she is surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. The rhythmic reflections of the water, the ever changing light conditions, the seasons and the variety of the marsh plants inspire her to capture and interpret her immediate surrounding. Petra earned a BFA from Salisbury University Summa Cum Laude in 2007 with a concentration in painting. Additionally, she has a BS from the University of Regensburg in Germany, where she worked as a teacher before moving to the United States.
