My artwork explores the natural beauty that surrounds us. I am always looking for a way to paint something unexpected or surprising and to represent the landscape or seascape in a unique way. I am drawn to the play between abstraction and representation, the use of space and scale, unusual angles and interesting perspectives.
I taught art and photography in the Montgomery County Md school system for 26 years, and worked as the county supervisor for art, theatre, and dance for 10 years. I have a BA from the University of Maryland and an MFA from Catholic University. I retired in 2008 and relocated in 2016 to Ocean Pines, MD where I established The Blue Heron Studio.
