Beverly Bassford Memorial Juried Show
- The Beverly Bassford Juried Show is an annual memorial event named for a former Art League of Ocean City board member who was passionate about the need for a new art facility, a passion realized in the Ocean City Center for the Arts. After her death in 1999, Bassford's family established a prize in her name, which grew into the annual memorial show, featuring fine art by local and regional artists and awards sill sponsored by Bassford's family.
In Studio E:
Mason D'Aleo
In the Spotlight Gallery:
Joanne Guilfoil
- Joanne teaches at the Art League of Ocean City frequently during the year. Her students come to practice painting with gouache (see pollinators) or acrylic paints (see pelagic fish). She also teaches art in after school clubs here in Worcester County. As a retired professor emeritus, Joanne continues to paint and write (books are on sale in the gift shop), as she did during her teaching career.
- During summer months on the Shore, we celebrate our country, our freedoms and our visitors… all living things. Two species that help define our coastal environment at this time and provide residents and guests endless pleasure are the pollinators and the pelagic fish, which visit for a brief exciting season. They both travel 1,000’s of miles in search of food from the northern and southern hemispheres and are on the Shore only for a while.
In the Artisan Showcase:
Dee Dobson
- My jewelry adventures began more than 40 years ago as an apprentice to a master metalsmith. I continue to use the traditional gold and silversmithing methods of rolling, hammering, fabricating, piercing, bending, soldering, and limited edition casting. My metals of choice are sterling and fine silver, varying carats of gold, and sometimes copper. Precious and semi-precious stones are chosen to represent the brilliant colors of the southwest desert to the dazzling display of light on the oceans and then bezel or prong set.
Featured in the Staircase Gallery:

Elizabeth Grey
- “I'll try to take any blank piece of paper and turn it into a piece that can help viewers escape from the world we live in by using my emotions to express an imaginary world as an alternate reality.”
- Elizabeth took her passion for the arts to pursue a degree in Fine Arts at Westchester Community College in New York before moving to Maryland. She now attends Wor-Wic Community College, pursuing her bachelor's degree in arts.
