The Ocean City Film Festival invites you to premiere night of the 7th Annual Ocean City Film Challenge. Be among the first to view original short films about Ocean City created by a group of very talented filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers.
We challenged filmmakers to produce a short film between July 1-31, 2024 shot in Ocean City or about Ocean City. The winners will be revealed during our Film Night and prizes will be awarded. Watch the films and awards and meet the filmmakers. You may be meeting the next Steven Spielberg!
Bring a chair. If it rains, films will move inside the Arts Center. Free, but all donations are welcome and happily accepted.
Writers Group
Join us for a monthly meetup with fellow writers in a casual, creative setting. Take turns sharing your writing (poetry or short prose) and receive feedback from your peers. Writers of all levels are welcome to attend!
A prompt is offered each month to spark your creativity and inspire your writing. This month’s prompt is: gift.
Please bring your creative writing (poetry or short prose) along with approx 5 copies for the group to read along with. The Arts Center may make additional copies as needed, but writings must be single-sided and without staples.

Artists Paint OC: A Plein Air Event
For five days, 50 artists compete for the top prizes of cash and prestige as they spread out across the area to paint famous vistas. These “plein air” artists are professionals; many are award winners in multiple competitions.
There are two opportunities to buy the original art. You are invited to the free “Wet Paint Sales” on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 5-7 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 1-3 p.m. Both sales are held at the waterfront Ocean City Center for the Arts, 502 94th St. bayside, and both are free to attend. Every painting is one-of-a-kind and ready to hang.

Kids Paint OC: A Plein Air Event
Join us for the 2nd annual Kids Paint OC event in conjunction with the annual Artists Paint OC Plein Air competition this August!
What is “Plein Air”? En plein air is French for “in open air”. Plein air artists paint outdoors, capturing the beautiful scenery around them.
Kids Paint OC is open to ages 6 -17. All levels and abilities are welcome! There is no fee to participate.
All artwork will be displayed during the art show on Sun. Aug. 18 from 12-3pm.
