Bus Trip to Brandywine River Museum

The Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA is housed in a converted 19th centure mill overlooking the banks of the Brandywine River. The museum features galleries dedicated to the work of NC Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, and Jamie Wyeth. On the way back, we'll make a 1 hour stop at Jerry's Artarama in Newark, DE! Purchase lunch at the Millstone Café or bring your own. Water bottles and snacks will be provided on the bus. $70 per person, to benefit the Art League. Bus departs the Art League of Ocean City at 8:30am and Lowes in Lewes DE at 9:15am, and returns 8:00pm.

Lower Shore Addiction Awareness Visual Arts Competition

With the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. Featuring artwork by middle and high school students in Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset. The show is designed to get students to think about opioid addiction and its dangers, and to give them the opportunity to work on their pieces while at school so they feel safe to potentially share how addiction may affect them personally. Opening reception: Friday June 7, 5-7pm. Show continues: Saturday June 8, 11-4pm.
Free Lecture Series: Glenstone: Modern Jewels in a Timeless Setting

A free series to create conversation and encourage curiosity. Join Brooke Rogers for a discussion about the Glenstone museum of modern and contemporary art. Brooke is our 2019 Fellow for Contemporary Art and Community Engagement. His many years of experience as an artist, college professor and gallery goer make him the perfect guide through the Glenstone collection. Located in Potomac, MD, Glenstone features a world class permanent collection and changing exhibits all housed in striking modernist galleries. The 300 acre campus features beautiful landscaping punctuated by outdoor sculpture and contemplative spaces. Brooke will discuss the major artists and works that you can expect to see if you sign up for the Art League bus trip to Glenstone on June 27.

Sunset Park Party Night

Division St. and Philadelphia Ave) for a night of live music sponsored by the Art League of Ocean City, in conjunction with the Town of Ocean City and the Ocean City Development Corporation. Hear music by "Eclipse", a Journey tribute-band. Please bring your own chairs.  Refreshments available for purchase.

Artists Paint OC: A Plein Air Event
August 7 @ 7:30 am - August 11 @ 8:00 pm
Welcome to the Art League of Ocean City’s 2019 Plein Air Event! Artists will take to the boardwalk, streets, harbors, bay and marshes to participate. “En plein air” is a French expression that means “in the open air,” used to describe the art of painting outdoors. Plein air events take place wherever the scenery is inspirational, artists congregate to paint it, and watchers gather to see the painters make art right before their eyes. 50 artists will paint the picturesque spots of the Ocean City area Wednesday through Saturday, August 7-11. Then gather at the Arts Center on Saturday to hang your best work and offer it for sale from 6-8 p.m. at a free reception open to the public. The entries juried in will continue on display at the Arts Center through August 31. See the event calendar and competition prospectus on our web site. Registration fee is non-refundable. $40 per person, includes the Quick Draw competition.
